I know I’m one of many when I say, I love the RHS Chelsea Flower Show!
Even more so this year as I had the chance to work with an expert team building Hampshire based Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants floral display in the RHS Chelsea Great Pavilion. A festival of all things floral in all scents (!) of the word, this year’s event is a showcase for more than 90 of the world’s best nurseries, growers and florists.
Every exhibit built from scratch, using temporary methods to create deceptively permanent looking displays, Chelsea really is the ultimate launchpad for cutting edge garden design and new plants.
Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants are celebrating their 30thanniversary, by unveiling two new herbaceous perennials on display for the first time.
Transporting 1000’s of plants up to Chelsea during the build, supported by an expert team, handpicked because of their combined experience and plant knowledge to help build stunning floral display combinations.
Director of Hardy’s, Rosy Hardy is going for her 22ndChelsea Gold Medal this year, having bagged an amazing 21 in previous shows, arguably making her the most successful plants woman at Chelsea.
Chelsea is a great exhibition for garden designers to see the latest trends for garden design and planting, meeting key members of the gardening community. We talk about tried and tested plants, see what’s new and under development, then pass on that knowledge to our clients.
Check back later when I’ll tell you more about what the “buzz of build day.”
