I’ve learnt that the key to getting it right is to really listen to what my client wants and needs right from the word go, and to work closely with them throughout each stage of the project.
Nicola Baldwin, owner of PLOT Garden Design
I will visit you for a free, no obligation consultation to find out what you want from your garden, discuss your ideas, share my experience and show you examples of my work. This is our chance to establish what you are looking for and how I can help, whether you want garden design plans, planting ideas or some friendly advice. Once we have agreed on the nature of your project I will provide you with a quotation and we will agree timescales.
This is the first step once you have commissioned a design. I will take detailed measurements of your garden and soil samples for analysis, record the aspect of the garden and take photographs.
Research and Design
I will research and produce two different garden design plans for your consideration. I will compile mood boards showing the style of design for your garden and “how it feels” to be in the garden. If you opt for a planting plan I will also produce a mood board for the style of planting.
We meet again so that I can present my designs to you and answer any questions you have. We agree the time you need to consider the designs and arrange a review meeting to discuss the final plan.
At this stage we can discuss aspects of the designs that you like or want to review, sometimes this involves combining elements from both designs. All design decisions need to be made at this stage to ensure the final plan meets your expectations.
I will produce the final design based on your feedback. The plans will provide all the detail necessary to implement the design.
Build & Roll Out
I can manage the build of the garden design for you, recommend good people for the job, or support you as you tackle it yourself. If you would like me to project manage the roll out then I will provide you with a quotation before we commence.
